Publix is still my favorite place to shop

I made a run on all the stores in my area today… Target, Walmart, CVS, AND Publix. And I can honestly say that I LOVE Publix the most!

But, at Publix… I spent $37.12 and SAVED $81.12

Back in the Saddle at Publix

publixchecker

Whewwwww… it’s really been awhile since I’ve “shopped”. Quite literally I don’t think I’ve been shopping more than once since mid. February. (Last week I made a run on Walmart since I had no coupons nor any time to look online for deals and spent a whopping $170 including new towels and other misc. stuff)

So, with only last Sunday’s paper worth of coupons in hand (along with some I printed last night) I managed to weave myway through the aisles and still managed to save more than I spent. 🙂

I must admit though, that I haven’t had time to “file” my coupons or even organize them… so this trip was NOT EASY!!! I really appreciate my coupon binder during times like this! I’ve got to get back to organizing my coupons before my next grocery trip!

Anyway.. a few of my favorite deals this week were:

Publix cola – On Sale 2/$1 Use Food Lion $1/3 and get 3 for .50! (this link will only let you print once, but it gives you the option to change the number you print out! Make sure you get a few!)

Kelloggs Frosted Flakes ON SALE BOGO. I also found peelies for BOGO on any Kellogg’s cereal… peeled it and combined them for 2 FREE boxes!!

Hillshire Farms Deli Meat 3.99  – .55 Recent insert stacked with -1 Target Printable=2.44

* near my Hillshire Farms section were some blinkies for the following: FREE LAYS wyb Hillshire Farms & Sara Lee Bread. My Sara Lee bread is marked down to 1.99 and I needed bread anyway so I also did this deal!

* On my FREE LAYS was a peelie for $1 off wyb Lays and Lays dip. So I grabbed a dip for $1 less than usual. 🙂

Oreo Cookies BOGO Used $1 off wyb Nabisco cookies & Milk peelie I grabbed back in February. (used 2 of these since we buy 2 gallons of milk a week and the cookies were BOGO anyway!)

Hellman’s Mayo BOGO used 2 IP’s ($1 off- PRINT 2!) got both jars for $2.99 = 1.49 each.

Ken’s Dressing  BOGO a favorite in our house… used this Sunday’s inser Q $1/2 = 2.19/2=1.09 each

Idahoan Mashed Potatoes ON SALE .50 each Buy 3 use .75 off IP q= 3/.75!!!  (we’ve never had these before, but for that cheap I’m gonna try them!)

Well, those are the ones I remember the most! Overall I came home with a receipt today that reads:

Total Spent: 71.44

Total Saved 79.24!!!

Publix Savings More than Double!

cvs-and-wags-016

Have I ever mentioned that I (heart) Publix?????

Please ignore the date in my picture.. this was taken today.. I just didn’t realize this camera had a date on it!

Since this is a whole new year of savings I was curious to see how my “percentages” of savings would look after doing an entire year of couponing, so I started a brand new spreadsheet just for 2009. So far.. I’ve already saved 84%! 🙂

My trip to Publix today was a big help.

Store coupon: 31.50 (this includes competitor coupons)

Vendor coupon: 12.04

Advertised Special Savings 37.22 (mostly BOGO’s)

Total savings: 80.76

Actual Payment Due: 32.97!

That’s over $100 worth of groceries for only $32!

Scary Good Deals at Publix

It’s the night before Halloween, and I can’t sleep. I’m up at 2am… positively frightened by how  much I’m gonna save at Publix in the morning! 🙂

Here are some of the deals I’m looking the most forward to…..

Green Giant Valley Steamers on sale 50% off -1 q (I have some from inserts, and some printables ) This should be anywhere from 20cents a bag… to free… depends on what they have posted as the regular price.

Ore Ida Steam ‘n Mash BOGO 3.99 Buy 2- Use 2 Printable -1 q’s AND stack with $1/2 Publix = .99 for 2 bags!

Apple’s on sale 1.29 lb.. use Food Lion Internet Printable -1q just play the little game... you don’t have to win… and you still get to print the $1 off any bag of apples from the produce section.

Produce= use $2/5 FLIP here

Bakery= use $2/5 FLIP here

(print both out… they have different coupons on them)

I also have a CVS $10/50 q (printed out on last receipt) I can use, if my total gets that high before coupons. Or a $4/20 that they emailed me.

I wish Publix was open 24 hours a day! I’d be there right now!!!

PS- I’m not really up just to plan my shopping! I’m just plain NOT tired tonight!!! I’m sure I’ll be paying for this late night blog in the morning. 🙂

UPDATE

Wow….I really think this was a GREAT week at Publix!!!

Those Ore Ida Mashers were an even better deal than I thought… my Publix q’s were $1 off 1… and my manny q’s were $1 off 1 as well. They were on sale 3.99 BOGO… so I could use $4 in q’s for 2 bags… which makes them FREE.. so.. I ended up buying 6… all for free!! Plus, I found a q in my binder that gave me $3.99 off of 1 of them because I “bought” 3!!! So… Publix actually paid ME $3.99 to TAKE HOME 6 bags!!!

The Fresh STeamers ended up being an overage purchase as well.. they rang up at .89 cents… and I had $1 off q’s… MONEYMAKER!!

After it was all said and done.. my OOP was $27.64 and my

Total SAVINGS was $70.40!!!!

Here’s some pics what I brought home for less than 30 bucks. 🙂

Now that I think about it, I basically bought the ground beef, milk, bread, and chips… and EVERYTHING ELSE WAS FREE!!!!!!!!!

I love Publix!!!
