Finally,we can drink Coke!

xtracarelogo1

We’ve been really thirsty lately around my house! I refuse to buy soda for more than $2 a 12 pack.. and lately the prices seem to just get larger as the packs are reduced to 8 packs!

Thankfully, CVS and the ECB program are coming to my rescue. I’ll be getting my 12 packs for only $1 each!!!

Here’s my plan for today.. broken down into 3 transactions.

Transaction #1

2 Adidas Action 3 deodorant 3.99 x2=7.98 EARN 6 ECB  (-2 $1 off coupons from a recent insert and -4 ECB’s on hand from last week) = 1.98 cash needed.

Transaction #2

3 Kellogg’s Cereal $10 EARN 5 ECB (– 3 $1 off PRINTABLE coupons, – 6 ECB’s from Transaction #1)= 1.00 cash needed

Transaction #3

5 Coke 12 packs $20 EARN 10 ECB (– 5 $1 off My coke Rewards coupons, – 5 ECB from Transaction #2) = 10.00 cash needed

I will be spending $12.98 in cash.. yeah, I know seems kinda high…

but leaving the store with 10 ECB= 2.98 OOP for all of that!

UPDATE: I ended up only doing 2 transactions.. the Coke first and then the rest. Ended up with 11 ECB’s. 🙂

Publix is still my favorite place to shop

I made a run on all the stores in my area today… Target, Walmart, CVS, AND Publix. And I can honestly say that I LOVE Publix the most!

publix1

Target and Walmart were okay on deals for me.. mostly just things like meat and toiletpaper.. no real big savings at the end of my reciept.

But, at Publix… I spent $37.12 and SAVED $81.12

I LOVE THAT!!!

Favorite finds:

Starkist Seasations- (freezer aisle) on sale BOGO at 6.99

-3.00 blinkie I found last week

-3.00 blinkie I found last week

=2 for .99!!!

Red potatoes on sale 1.97 – TARGET Q $1= .97 for a 5 lb bag!

Skippy Peanut butter ( I just finished off my last jar yesterday!) BOGO 2.43 – .40 .40= 1.63 for 2 jars= .81 each.

Quaker Oatmeal on sale 1.99 – $1 blinkie – .55 food lion (no longer in database but expired on 4/31)= .44 a box

Scrubbing Bubbles BOGO 3.29 – $1 – $1= 1.29/2 or .64 each. (I got these coupons from a coupon booklet found at the front of my Publix last week FULL of lots of great cleaning coupons by SC Johnson)

Teddy Grahams/Ritz Bits on sale BOGO 2.99 – $1 Target q – $1 target q = .99/2 or .49 a box. UPDATE: Just found a new coupon to stack with this deal… -1/2 Printable would make this 2 FREE boxes for you! (math: 2.99- 1-1-1/2=0 for 2 boxes!)

Pasta Roni BOGO 1.69 Buy 4 and use $1/4 coupon from recent insert= 2.38/4 or .29 a box.

Yoplait Yogurt (gogurt!) BOGO- use with the .75/2 coupon from recent insert

Pop Tarts (FINALLY) BOGO – use with the $1/2 coupon from recent insert

And of course, I always make sure to use a CVS$10/50 coupon to help out a bit. I’m upset though, because I used my last one today and the CVS machine didn’t print me one this time!

Happy Shopping.. hope this helps some of you!

fooled by the small print

I must be a bit out of practice.. I went into CVS today for just a few items that I saw in this weeks ad without checking out other bloggers or Hot Coupon World first….

I THOUGHT I was going to get 2 ECB’s for buying my gallon of milk… but I totally missed the whole section below it in the ad that states that you need to ALSO buy 4 boxes of cereal. 😦

Here’s what my ad said:

Milk 2.79

2 Extra Care Bucks

=.79

“It’s like getting your mild for .79!

Then down below it, there’s a sale on cereal 4/$10 and THEN a statement about the 2 ECB’s WHEN YOU BUY BOTH in small print.

Well, I am a bit annoyed about this… it was VERY misleading if you ask me!

Anyway…

The Crest Pro Health deal worked just fine

I bought 2 Crest Pro Health for 2.88 each used a .75 off coupon and a $1 off coupon…and earned $4 ECB’s =.01 OOP for both!!!

I also picked up a raincheck for the FREE after ECB’s Edge Shave Gel.

Back in the Saddle at Publix

publixchecker

Whewwwww… it’s really been awhile since I’ve “shopped”. Quite literally I don’t think I’ve been shopping more than once since mid. February. (Last week I made a run on Walmart since I had no coupons nor any time to look online for deals and spent a whopping $170 including new towels and other misc. stuff)

So, with only last Sunday’s paper worth of coupons in hand (along with some I printed last night) I managed to weave myway through the aisles and still managed to save more than I spent. 🙂

I must admit though, that I haven’t had time to “file” my coupons or even organize them… so this trip was NOT EASY!!! I really appreciate my coupon binder during times like this! I’ve got to get back to organizing my coupons before my next grocery trip!

Anyway.. a few of my favorite deals this week were:

Publix cola – On Sale 2/$1 Use Food Lion $1/3 and get 3 for .50! (this link will only let you print once, but it gives you the option to change the number you print out! Make sure you get a few!)

Kelloggs Frosted Flakes ON SALE BOGO. I also found peelies for BOGO on any Kellogg’s cereal… peeled it and combined them for 2 FREE boxes!!

Hillshire Farms Deli Meat 3.99  – .55 Recent insert stacked with -1 Target Printable=2.44

* near my Hillshire Farms section were some blinkies for the following: FREE LAYS wyb Hillshire Farms & Sara Lee Bread. My Sara Lee bread is marked down to 1.99 and I needed bread anyway so I also did this deal!

* On my FREE LAYS was a peelie for $1 off wyb Lays and Lays dip. So I grabbed a dip for $1 less than usual. 🙂

Oreo Cookies BOGO Used $1 off wyb Nabisco cookies & Milk peelie I grabbed back in February. (used 2 of these since we buy 2 gallons of milk a week and the cookies were BOGO anyway!)

Hellman’s Mayo BOGO used 2 IP’s ($1 off- PRINT 2!) got both jars for $2.99 = 1.49 each.

Ken’s Dressing  BOGO a favorite in our house… used this Sunday’s inser Q $1/2 = 2.19/2=1.09 each

Idahoan Mashed Potatoes ON SALE .50 each Buy 3 use .75 off IP q= 3/.75!!!  (we’ve never had these before, but for that cheap I’m gonna try them!)

Well, those are the ones I remember the most! Overall I came home with a receipt today that reads:

Total Spent: 71.44

Total Saved 79.24!!!
