Publix is still my favorite place to shop

I made a run on all the stores in my area today… Target, Walmart, CVS, AND Publix. And I can honestly say that I LOVE Publix the most!

publix1

Target and Walmart were okay on deals for me.. mostly just things like meat and toiletpaper.. no real big savings at the end of my reciept.

But, at Publix… I spent $37.12 and SAVED $81.12

I LOVE THAT!!!

Favorite finds:

Starkist Seasations- (freezer aisle) on sale BOGO at 6.99

-3.00 blinkie I found last week

Scrubbing Bubbles BOGO 3.29 – $1 – $1= 1.29/2 or .64 each. (I got these coupons from a coupon booklet found at the front of my Publix last week FULL of lots of great cleaning coupons by SC Johnson)

Teddy Grahams/Ritz Bits on sale BOGO 2.99 – $1 Target q – $1 target q = .99/2 or .49 a box. UPDATE: Just found a new coupon to stack with this deal… -1/2 Printable would make this 2 FREE boxes for you! (math: 2.99- 1-1-1/2=0 for 2 boxes!)

Yoplait Yogurt (gogurt!) BOGO- use with the .75/2 coupon from recent insert

Pop Tarts (FINALLY) BOGO – use with the $1/2 coupon from recent insert

And of course, I always make sure to use a CVS$10/50 coupon to help out a bit. I’m upset though, because I used my last one today and the CVS machine didn’t print me one this time!

Happy Shopping.. hope this helps some of you!

Not much to tell

I don’t know what it is, but I’m just not getting thrilled about any CVS/Walgreens deal lately. I can’t wait for some great ECB offers.

Seems like there are some good deals coming up soon on Easter stuff… but we don’t do the whole Easter basket thing in my house anymore (what do bunnies laying eggs have to do with Jesus dying on the cross anyway??).   But here’s a sneak peak at next week’s ad anyway:Sneak Peak

I am happy to report that I earned another 10 FREE ECB’s for completing a CVS Advisor Survey a few weeks ago, so that will come in handy on some of my basic needs this week like toilet paper. 🙂

I did run to Publix this week on Monday… but didn’t have any super good buys worth mentioning. I’m still maintaining my under $50/week grocery budget, but my kids are starting to get bored with the Frosted Flakes and Granola Bars that are  still stuffing my stockpile!

Anyway.. sorry I didn’t have much to say today.. I’ve been busy working on my business website this week. I finally started a business blog today… I don’t know why I never did it before!!! Check it out if you’re interested in photography and you live in the N. Florida area. 🙂 www.memoriescaptured.wordpress.com

Have a nice week!

Back in the Saddle at Publix

publixchecker

Whewwwww… it’s really been awhile since I’ve “shopped”. Quite literally I don’t think I’ve been shopping more than once since mid. February. (Last week I made a run on Walmart since I had no coupons nor any time to look online for deals and spent a whopping $170 including new towels and other misc. stuff)

So, with only last Sunday’s paper worth of coupons in hand (along with some I printed last night) I managed to weave myway through the aisles and still managed to save more than I spent. 🙂

I must admit though, that I haven’t had time to “file” my coupons or even organize them… so this trip was NOT EASY!!! I really appreciate my coupon binder during times like this! I’ve got to get back to organizing my coupons before my next grocery trip!

Anyway.. a few of my favorite deals this week were:

Publix cola – On Sale 2/$1 Use Food Lion $1/3 and get 3 for .50! (this link will only let you print once, but it gives you the option to change the number you print out! Make sure you get a few!)

Kelloggs Frosted Flakes ON SALE BOGO. I also found peelies for BOGO on any Kellogg’s cereal… peeled it and combined them for 2 FREE boxes!!

Hillshire Farms Deli Meat 3.99  – .55 Recent insert stacked with -1 Target Printable=2.44

* near my Hillshire Farms section were some blinkies for the following: FREE LAYS wyb Hillshire Farms & Sara Lee Bread. My Sara Lee bread is marked down to 1.99 and I needed bread anyway so I also did this deal!

* On my FREE LAYS was a peelie for $1 off wyb Lays and Lays dip. So I grabbed a dip for $1 less than usual. 🙂

Oreo Cookies BOGO Used $1 off wyb Nabisco cookies & Milk peelie I grabbed back in February. (used 2 of these since we buy 2 gallons of milk a week and the cookies were BOGO anyway!)

Hellman’s Mayo BOGO used 2 IP’s ($1 off- PRINT 2!) got both jars for $2.99 = 1.49 each.

Ken’s Dressing  BOGO a favorite in our house… used this Sunday’s inser Q $1/2 = 2.19/2=1.09 each

Idahoan Mashed Potatoes ON SALE .50 each Buy 3 use .75 off IP q= 3/.75!!!  (we’ve never had these before, but for that cheap I’m gonna try them!)

Well, those are the ones I remember the most! Overall I came home with a receipt today that reads:

Total Spent: 71.44

Total Saved 79.24!!!

Publix Savings More than Double!

cvs-and-wags-016

Have I ever mentioned that I (heart) Publix?????

Please ignore the date in my picture.. this was taken today.. I just didn’t realize this camera had a date on it!

Since this is a whole new year of savings I was curious to see how my “percentages” of savings would look after doing an entire year of couponing, so I started a brand new spreadsheet just for 2009. So far.. I’ve already saved 84%! 🙂

My trip to Publix today was a big help.

Store coupon: 31.50 (this includes competitor coupons)

Vendor coupon: 12.04

Advertised Special Savings 37.22 (mostly BOGO’s)

Total savings: 80.76

Actual Payment Due: 32.97!

That’s over $100 worth of groceries for only $32!

Publix Super Savers

publixcheckerThis week at Publix:

Spent 54.24

Saved 67.35

And I feel like I overspent!!! Now I know I’m hooked if I actually feel guilty for spending over $50 a week on groceries.

Favorite deals/steals this week
Totinos’ Pizza Rolls BOGO 3.99

Use (2) 1 Target Q’s and (2) 1 IP= 2 bags free. 🙂 I had enough coupons to get 4 bags free. The Target q’s are now expired though.. so you’ll have to pay $2 for 2 bags.

Glad Drawsting trash bags on Sale 3.99

Use 1 off coupon in the Celebrate Noche Buena coupon booklet @ Publix

Kellogg’s Pop Tarts BOGO 2.19

Found $1 off peelies on select boxes. Use 2 peelies get 2 boxes for 19 cents. 🙂 These coupons say “must be removed by cashier” so you’ll have to use them on those exact boxes. However, at my Publix, the Poptarts are up front, so I showed the customer service rep my binder and asked her if I could peel them and keep them with all my other coupons for easier checkout. She looked at me like I was crazy for even asking and said “of course”.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal on sale 1.99

Used 1 off coupon no longer available. But there is a 55 cents off coupon here: http://www.boxtops4education.com/Coupons/

I guess that’s pretty much it for my special deals this week. No wonder I spent so much! 🙂 Had to buy meat, juice boxes, taco stuff bread… etc.

Still waiting for Old El Paso to go on BOGO again! It’s been way too long! We’re out of our stockpile!

Anyway.. don’t forget to look around at the other Publix Super Savers out there!
